Rules & Conditions
- Done at the convention: All tattoos must be created at INK & OIL (except for Best Healed).
- Registration: Must be completed no later than 2 hours before judging for the chosen category.
- Healed requirement: Minimum 30 days healed (no fresh touch-ups).
- Size guide: Small ≤ 10 × 10 cm.

Rules – INK & OIL Tattoo Convention 2027
The INK & OIL Tattoo Convention takes place alongside Motorshow Herning and generally follows standard rules and guidelines, with a few exceptions.
Opening Hours
Official Opening Hours – Motorshow Herning:
- Friday 12/2: 11:00–18:30
- Saturday 13/2: 09:30–18:00
- Sunday 14/2: 10:00–16:00
Extended Opening Hours for Artists and Clients/Canvases:
- Friday 12/2: 08:00–21:00
- Saturday 13/2: 08:00–21:00
- Sunday 14/2: 09:00–16:00
Once a tattoo is finished, the booth must be cleared to allow other artists to work in a calm environment. Anyone without a wristband must leave immediately.
Arrival at Messecenter Herning
Entry can only be at the main entrance for Motorshow Herning (Hall M). You will need to sign in at the exhibition office and get your exhibition cards, wristbands and goodie bags.
Booth Setup
Setup times:
- Thursday 11/2: 16:00–21:00
- Friday 12/2: 07:00–10:00
All booths must be ready by Friday at 10:00. We recommend preparing on Thursday due to overnight cleaning. No equipment or materials may be brought in after this time.
Food
It is possible to buy food at the many different food trucks. You also have access to our exhibition restaurant located in Hall F.
Dismantling
Packing up is strictly prohibited before Sunday 16:00. Booths may only be dismantled once Motorshow officially closes. Violating this rule may result in expulsion and exclusion from future events.
Music
Music must be played respectfully, taking other artists and visitors into account. Instructions from the hall manager must always be followed.
Commitment
All artists and booths are expected to be present and active throughout the entire event. INK & OIL and Motorshow Herning are public events, so we require all booths to be staffed during opening hours.
Access & Wristbands
Wristbands are personal; they may not be shared. Artists receive 2 wristbands for clients (canvases). Unless the canvases buy a ticket for Motorshow Herning, it is the artist’s responsibility to hand over the wristband at the entrance.
Only registered artists and their clients with valid wristbands are allowed in the hall outside official hours. Once you leave, re-entry is not possible without a wristband. Security staff have full authority to remove anyone who does not follow the rules or disrupts the event.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a refund on my booth or ticket?
Booth bookings are non-refundable once confirmed. Visitor tickets may be refunded up to 14 days before the event. Contact us for exceptions in case of force majeure.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, MCH Messecenter Herning has ample free parking for all visitors and exhibitors. Follow the signage for event parking.
What hygiene and safety measures are in place?
All tattoo artists must follow Danish health regulations. Single-use needles, gloves, and proper sterilization are mandatory. Venue staff will conduct random inspections.
Are there power outlets at each booth?
Yes, every booth package includes a 230V power outlet. If you need additional power or specific voltage, contact us in advance for custom solutions.
What is the age limit for visitors?
The event is open to all ages. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for tattoo work.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit/debit cards, MobilePay, and bank transfers for booth bookings. Visitor tickets can be purchased online via card or mobile payment.
